What Landogrozumab is

The clearest test in the whole field. In 201 older adults who had fallen, it added 0.43 kg of lean mass at p below 0.0001 and moved two of about seven physical performance measures.

This is the trial to read if you want to understand what myostatin inhibition actually delivers, because it was run in exactly the population the idea is meant to help: older adults who were weak and who had fallen. The body composition result is unambiguous.

Mechanism: A humanised monoclonal antibody neutralising myostatin, blocking its signalling through activin type II receptors and the SMAD2/3 pathway that suppresses muscle protein synthesis. Same target as stamulumab, engineered for higher potency.

Regulatory history: Never approved. Eli Lilly did not advance it past phase 2.

How MHRA treats this kind of product

Licenses medicines for the UK market. A compound without a marketing authorisation is an unlicensed medicine, which can only lawfully be supplied for human use through a prescriber under the specials scheme, not sold as a research product.

The classification above is the The Longevity Archive reading of Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency listings for Landogrozumab at the reviewed date, not a legal opinion. Rules change, and importing, prescribing and possessing a compound can each be treated differently. Check the regulator directly before acting on anything here.
