Is Semax with selank and dihexa legal in the United States?

Three brain peptides sold as one focus stack. Two are approved medicines in Russia, with small studies done there. The third rests on a paper that was pulled by its journal in 2025, after a warning notice in 2021. Nobody has tested the mix, and no vial size is standard across sellers.

The pitch is one peptide to wake you up, one to calm you down, and one to grow new brain connections. That covers focus, anxiety and long-term learning.

How it works: In rats, semax seems to raise the brain growth protein BDNF and its receptor in the memory centre of the brain. Russian medical papers describe it as protecting nerve cells.

Approval history: None of the three is approved in the United States. Semax and selank are registered medicines in Russia. Dihexa has never been approved anywhere, and never finished human testing.

Approves prescription drugs, each for a named use. It also acts against unapproved products, including peptides sold online. Compounding pharmacies, which mix drugs to order, may make some compounds with a prescription. That only applies when the FDA puts the compound in a category of bulk ingredients it allows.

Whether Semax with selank and dihexa is banned in sport is set by the World Anti-Doping Code and by military rules, not by its legal status in the United States. Under the World Anti-Doping Code, category S0 bans, at all times, any drug-like substance that meets two tests. No other section of the List covers it. And no government health regulator anywhere has a current approval for it as a treatment in people. Many substances that are approved somewhere are banned by name in another section. So approval does not mean a substance is allowed in sport.
