Is DSIP with selank and epitalon legal in the United Kingdom?

A sleep and body clock blend, usually 2 mg DSIP, 2 mg epitalon and 0.5 mg selank. So the two bigger ingredients are each four times the third by weight. The sleep evidence for DSIP in people is from the early 1980s, and no modern study has repeated it. Epitalon's record in people is Russian anti-ageing work, not sleep research. Nobody has studied the mix.

The three ingredients are sold as a body clock package. One to bring on sleep, one to reset the body clock, and one to take the edge off.

How it works: DSIP is a small peptide, nine building blocks long. It was found in the brain blood of rabbits during sleep experiments.

Approval history: None of the three is approved in the United States. Selank is a registered medicine in Russia. DSIP and epitalon are not registered medicines in Western countries.

Licenses medicines for sale in the UK. A compound without a licence to be sold (a marketing authorisation) is an unlicensed medicine. The law only lets it reach people through a prescriber, under the specials scheme (unlicensed medicines made for one patient's needs). It cannot be sold as a research product.

Whether DSIP with selank and epitalon is banned in sport is set by the World Anti-Doping Code and by military rules, not by its legal status in the United Kingdom. Before you compete or get tested, look up DSIP with selank and epitalon by name on the Prohibited List, or look up a named product in Global DRO. Under the World Anti-Doping Code, category S0 bans, at all times, any drug-like substance that meets two tests. No other section of the List covers it. And no government health regulator anywhere has a current approval for it as a treatment in people. Many substances that are approved somewhere are banned by name in another section. So approval does not mean a substance is allowed in sport.
