Ovagen appears in retail peptide bioregulator catalogues as a liver and gastrointestinal product, usually with the sequence EDL, Glu-Asp-Leu, attached to it. It is one of the Cytogen and Cytomax style trade names sold alongside better known members of the Khavinson family.

Mechanism: No mechanism has been demonstrated for this product. The circulating account, that a Glu-Asp-Leu tripeptide enters hepatocytes and regulates transcription of liver-specific genes, is an extension of the general Khavinson epigenetic hypothesis applied to an organ label.
