Is OSKM Cyclic Partial Reprogramming legal in the United Kingdom?

Nobody has been given OSKM. There is no registered trial of four-gene reprogramming in people anywhere.

How it works: Shown in mice only. Short bursts of Oct4, Sox2, Klf4 and c-Myc push cells part way back toward being stem cells.

Approval history: Not approved anywhere. ClinicalTrials.gov lists no human study of OSKM reprogramming, which uses four genes. The only registered human reprogramming study uses the three-gene OSK set.

The law only lets it reach people through a prescriber, under the specials scheme (unlicensed medicines made for one patient's needs). It cannot be sold as a research product.
