Are peptides illegal?

There is no single national rule that makes peptides, as a category, illegal. This site's legal-status fields are national and compound-specific: US, UK, Australia, and Canada. Some peptides are approved prescription medicines (semaglutide, tirzepatide, tesamorelin, PT-141 as Vyleesi). Many others are listed not approved, research use only. Research-use-only is a regulatory label, not a criminal code and not a permission to take the vial. Selling an unapproved article as a drug for human use is a different legal question from the national field on /legal. This dataset has not filled any US state, UK county, or Canadian province.
