What is the difference between bacteriostatic, sterile, and distilled water?

Bacteriostatic water contains a preservative, so it supports multi-use over about 28 days. Sterile water is pure and sterile but has no preservative, so it is intended for single use. Distilled water is purified but not necessarily sterile and is not appropriate for reconstitution. Tap and spring water should never be used.
