Why shouldn't I shake the peptide vial?

Peptides are fragile chains of amino acids, and vigorous shaking can cause them to aggregate or unfold, which can reduce their activity. Shaking also creates foam and bubbles. Gentle swirling or rolling is enough; most peptides dissolve within about 30 to 60 seconds.
