What Buntanetap is
A pill that cuts how much amyloid, tau and alpha-synuclein the brain makes, all at once. It is in an 850-person final-stage Alzheimer's study, with a symptom result due early in 2027.
Buntanetap, from Annovis Bio, slows the making of three harmful brain proteins, rather than clearing one of them after it builds up. In an early study, 14 people with early Alzheimer's and 54 with early Parkinson's took it or a dummy pill.
How it works: It slows how cells read the instructions for APP, tau and alpha-synuclein. That lowers the levels of all three proteins.
