Is Navepegritide legal in the United Kingdom?

A weekly shot that slowly releases C-type natriuretic peptide, or CNP. The FDA approved it in February 2026 for achondroplasia in children aged two and older.

Navepegritide slowly releases CNP from a carrier, so it needs only one shot a week. CNP pushes back against the overactive FGFR3 signal that causes achondroplasia, a genetic condition that limits bone growth.

How it works: It is a slow-release form of CNP. It switches on the NPR-B receptor, which turns down the MAPK signal driven by FGFR3 in the growth plates of bones.

Whether Navepegritide is banned in sport is set by the World Anti-Doping Code and by military rules, not by its legal status in the United Kingdom. Before you compete or get tested, look up Navepegritide by name on the Prohibited List, or look up a named product in Global DRO. Under the World Anti-Doping Code, category S0 bans, at all times, any drug-like substance that meets two tests. No other section of the List covers it. And no government health regulator anywhere has a current approval for it as a treatment in people. Many substances that are approved somewhere are banned by name in another section. So approval does not mean a substance is allowed in sport.
