The two RECONNECT trials in 1,267 premenopausal women over 24 weeks found nausea, flushing, and headache each in 10% or more on bremelanotide 1.75 milligrams as needed. The mechanism is central melanocortin receptor agonism, which is why the side-effect pattern differs from vascular erectile-dysfunction drugs.
