Lilly's follow-up to donanemab, made to be self-injected at home. A large final-stage study finished in 2026 and results are pending.
Remternetug targets the same modified form of amyloid as donanemab, but it is given as a shot under the skin at home. The large final-stage study TRAILRUNNER-ALZ 1 judged it on how much amyloid it cleared from brain scans.
How it works: It is an antibody against a modified form of amyloid beta, called N3pG. It helps the brain's clean-up cells, called microglia, eat the plaque.
