Rubedo's topical senolytic that met its Phase 1 safety endpoint in psoriasis, eczema and photo-aged skin, with collagen gene expression rising in treated skin.
RLS-1496 is designed to clear pathologic senescent skin cells by modulating glutathione peroxidase 4. In a Phase 1 reported in March 2026, it was well tolerated; a quarter of psoriasis and atopic dermatitis participants had a 4-point or greater drop in itch at four weeks versus none on vehicle, and photo-aged skin showed dose-dependent target engagement with increasing collagen gene expression.
Mechanism: Selective modulation of GPX4 in senescent cells, triggering their removal while sparing healthy cells.
