GlyNAC

GlyNAC (Glycine + N-Acetylcysteine)

A combination of glycine and NAC studied in older adults for restoring glutathione and improving multiple markers of aging.

Overview

GlyNAC is the combination of the amino acid glycine and N-acetylcysteine, the two building blocks the body needs to make glutathione. Trials from a Baylor research group in older adults reported that GlyNAC restored glutathione, reduced oxidative stress and inflammation, and improved several aging-related measures including strength and cognition. The studies are small, so the evidence is promising but preliminary. It is a supplement combination.

Mechanism of action

Supplies glycine and cysteine to rebuild depleted glutathione, lowering oxidative stress and supporting mitochondrial function.
