Overview
Semax is a Russian-approved heptapeptide with clinical use in stroke and cognitive impairment. Vendors sell an N-acetylated, C-amidated version claiming greater stability and potency. No pharmacokinetic or efficacy study of this analog has been located; the modifications are plausible for stability but unproven. It rides a sharp rise in searches for nootropic peptides.
Mechanism of action
Presumed same as Semax: melanocortin-derived modulation of BDNF and monoamine systems.
