The five peptides everyone starts with
Every starter guide in this field names roughly the same five, lays them out side by side with doses, and leaves you with the impression that they are five versions of the same kind of thing. They are not, and the difference is not subtle.
One of them has been measured in 25,087 people. The other four have 148 between them, and almost none of that was for the thing they are sold for. Every number on this page is read straight out of the studies cited on each compound's own profile.
The whole thing, in one table
| Compound | Sold for | People | What was actually measured in them |
|---|---|---|---|
| Semaglutide | Weight loss | 25,087 | heart attacks and strokes (17,604), memory and thinking (3,808), losing weight (3,675) |
| Ipamorelin | Growth hormone, recovery, sleep, body composition | 117 | gut and digestion (117) |
| BPC-157 | Healing tendons, joints and gut | 31 | pain (17), thyroid (2), kidney function (2) |
| TB-500 | Healing, paired with BPC-157 as the wolverine stack | 0 | eyes and vision (0) |
| GHK-Cu | Skin, hair and collagen | 0 | nothing. no human study of any kind |
Participant counts are read from the study lines on each profile and deliberately undercount. They are never added across compounds, because the same person can appear in more than one trial.
Semaglutide
25,087 people · 5 human citationsSold for weight loss.
Measured in people
- Heart attacks and strokes17,604 people
- Memory and thinking3,808 people
- Losing weight3,675 people
What people using it report
- As with tirzepatide, a large share of discussion is simply people working out that two differently branded products are the same molecule approved for different things at very different prices, and that a third similar drug is a different molecule again.
- The effect people describe valuing most is appetite and food preoccupation falling away rather than the number on the scale, and it is frequently described in terms of no longer having to spend attention on food.
- Direct comparison against tirzepatide is constant and goes both ways. A recurring pattern is people describing themselves as doing better on one than the other with no clear reason, and switching between them.
Ipamorelin
117 people · 1 human citationSold for growth hormone, recovery, sleep, body composition.
Measured in people
- Gut and digestion117 people
What people using it report
- Almost never discussed alone. The overwhelmingly common pattern is pairing it with a growth hormone releasing hormone analogue, most often CJC-1295, which means essentially no self-report about it isolates this peptide from the other one.
- Doses people describe run around 200 to 300 mcg at night, sometimes split across the day, on schedules of five days on and two off. Those schedules come from forum convention rather than from any published human dosing.
- What people report wanting from it is recovery, sleep and body recomposition rather than weight loss, and experienced users repeatedly tell newcomers that it will not produce fat loss and that a GLP-1 drug is what does that.
BPC-157
31 people · 5 human citationsSold for healing tendons, joints and gut.
Measured in people
- Pain17 people
- Thyroid2 people, 1 found nothing
- Kidney function2 people, 1 found nothing
Measured in animals or cells only: tendon, ligament and injury healing. Real results that answer a different question from a trial. Where the human work is missing on a compound nobody can patent, the reason is usually that no sponsor would recover the cost of running it, which is set out on the profile.
What people using it report
- Dose patterns described in circulation cluster around 250 to 500 mcg subcutaneously once or twice daily for four to eight weeks, often injected near the injured site. The strengths compounders proposed to FDA match that: 250 mcg, 500 mcg and 1 mg capsules and a 2,000 mcg/mL injection. Published clinic use looks different again, with single doses of 2 to 4 mg into a joint or 10 mg into the bladder wall.
- The injuries people describe treating are tendinopathy, especially elbow, shoulder and Achilles, partial muscle tears, knee pain and post-surgical recovery, plus gut complaints such as reflux and inflammatory bowel symptoms.
- Reported timelines are typically a reduction in pain in the first one to two weeks and a change in what the joint or tendon tolerates by weeks three to six. People who stop before about four weeks commonly report no lasting change.
TB-500
no trial in people · 2 human citationsSold for healing, paired with bpc-157 as the wolverine stack.
Measured in people
- Eyes and vision0 people
Measured in animals or cells only: living longer. Real results that answer a different question from a trial. Where the human work is missing on a compound nobody can patent, the reason is usually that no sponsor would recover the cost of running it, which is set out on the profile.
What people using it report
- TB-500 is most often described as part of a two-peptide protocol with BPC-157, sold and discussed as a healing or wolverine stack. Almost no self-report isolates it, so nothing people describe can be attributed to this peptide rather than the other one.
- Dosing patterns commonly described run as a loading phase of a few milligrams per week split into two injections for four to six weeks, followed by a lower maintenance dose. There is no published human dose, and reviews in the orthopaedic literature state plainly that indications, dose, frequency and duration are all undefined.
- The uses people report are chronic tendon and ligament complaints, shoulder and hip problems, scar tissue and range of motion, and general recovery between hard training blocks.
GHK-Cu
no trial in people · 0 human citationsSold for skin, hair and collagen.
Nothing measured in a person
There is no human study of GHK-Cu of any kind on this site. Not for what it is sold for, not for anything else, and not for safety.
What people using it report
- Split use. People apply it topically for skin and scalp, and inject it much less often. Topical is described by most as the sensible route, commonly mixed into water and sprayed or applied to scalp and face.
- Subcutaneous injection is described as genuinely unpleasant, with the injection site turning blue for two to three days and the injection itself reported as painful. That is the most consistent negative in the whole discussion and it is a reason people give for switching to topical.
- For hair, the repeated pattern is that nothing visible happens in the first four weeks and that people who report satisfaction are those who ran it six months alongside minoxidil and microneedling. Almost nobody reports it working alone.
What to take from this
A thin human record is not proof that something does nothing. Most of these molecules cannot be patented, so no company will ever fund the trial that would settle it, and an unfunded question stays open rather than answered.
It is also not permission to assume it works. Both of those are true at once, and any page that tells you only one of them is selling you something.
What you can do is know which of the two situations you are in before you spend money, and that is the whole purpose of this site.
Nothing here is advice, and nothing here is a recommendation to take or to avoid anything. Every figure on this page is computed from the citations on each compound's own profile and changes when those do.
