Novo Nordisk's single-molecule GLP-1 and amylin agonist, in oral and injectable forms, that showed strong early weight loss and is heading to Phase 3.

Overview

Amycretin is a Novo Nordisk drug that combines GLP-1 and amylin activity in a single molecule, aiming to match combination therapy in one agent. It is being developed in both oral and injectable forms. Phase 2 reported around 14.5% weight loss at 36 weeks for the injectable in people with type 2 diabetes, and the earlier Phase 1b/2a obesity study reported 22% to 24% at 36 weeks. Update, September 2026: the Phase 3 AMAZE program began in February 2026 with AMAZE 1 in adults with overweight or obesity. It is investigational and not approved.
