This is how I would explain it to a friend. The evidence, with the numbers, is further down the page.
Bronchogen is a four amino acid peptide sold for the lungs and airways. Every bit of evidence for it is cells in a dish and test tube chemistry. There is no animal study and no human study. It is sold as capsules you hold under the tongue, with no data that any of it gets into your blood. It is not approved.
What people take it for
- Easier breathing with asthma, COPD or long term bronchitis.
- Repairing lung tissue after an infection or years of smoking.
- Slowing down lung ageing.
What studies in people showed
Nobody has tested Bronchogen in a person. Nobody has tested it in an animal. One paper from the group that sells it looked at short peptides in cells. Another found it raised the temperature at which DNA melts by 3.1 degrees C in a test tube. That is a chemistry result. It says nothing about your lungs. That same paper spells the peptide's sequence differently from the way vendors sell it. Nobody outside that group has studied it at all.

What is Bronchogen?
Bronchogen is a four building block peptide from Khavinson's institute, sold for lung health. The only evidence is lab work from one group. There are no human trials and no data on how the body absorbs it.
Bronchogen is claimed to bind DNA and switch on lung genes, such as NKX2-1 and SCGB1A1. The evidence is lab dish and chemistry work from the institute that made it. One Khavinson group study looked at short peptides and a hormone called irisin. A chemistry paper found bronchogen raised the temperature at which DNA from calf and mouse cells comes apart by 3.1 degrees C, with no preference for any part of the DNA code. Changing how DNA melts is not evidence of a lung effect. It is sold as a Russian supplement and by Western research sellers, usually as under-the-tongue capsules. There is no human trial, no absorption data, and no proof it is absorbed at all.

In a test tube. Bronchogen made DNA from calf and mouse cells a little harder to pull apart. That is a chemistry result, not a lung effect. Like the rest of this peptide's research, it comes from one research group. The paper lists the building blocks in a different order from the one sellers use.
Calorimetry showed bronchogen raised the melting temperature of calf-thymus and mouse-liver DNA by 3.1 degrees C, with no base-pair specificity. This is a physical-chemistry result, not evidence of a lung effect, and like the rest of the bronchogen literature it comes from the single Khavinson research lineage. The paper spells the sequence Ala-Asp-Glu-Leu rather than the Ala-Glu-Asp-Leu used by vendors.
