Overview
FGL is a peptide fragment of the neural cell adhesion molecule (NCAM) that mimics its interaction with the FGF receptor. In animal studies it enhanced memory, synaptic plasticity, and neuroprotection, with interest in aging and neurodegeneration. There is little human evidence, so it is preliminary and not approved.
Mechanism of action
Activates the FGF receptor via an NCAM-mimicking sequence, promoting synaptic plasticity and neuronal survival.
