Is PT-141 the same as melanotan 2?
No, though both are melanocortin receptor agonists from related research. PT-141 (bremelanotide) is FDA approved as Vyleesi for hypoactive sexual desire disorder in premenopausal women. Melanotan II was never approved anywhere, is prohibited to supply in Australia, and its own research record raises safety concerns not resolved by an approval the way PT-141's have been.
