In people with type 2 diabetes, the three-month blood sugar average fell by up to 2.16 points. These results came from company releases. Everyone in the studies was Chinese. Twenty four weeks is short.

UBT251 was made by The United Laboratories, and Novo Nordisk licensed it for outside China. It works on three signals: GLP-1, GIP and glucagon. In a 24-week mid-stage study reported in February 2026, people lost up to 19.7 percent of their weight on average, or 17.5 kg. People on a dummy shot lost 2.0 percent. In a separate mid-stage study in type 2 diabetes, HbA1c, a three-month blood sugar average, fell by up to 2.16 points. Novo dropped its own three-signal drug, even after a good mid-stage result, and is moving UBT251 forward instead. A large final-stage study is planned in China.

A triple-acting injection took off a large amount of weight in half a year. In a Chinese mid-stage study the best dose removed about 17.5 kg, close to a fifth of body weight, while the dummy group lost about 2%. Twenty four weeks is short, and gut side effects usually decide how many people stay on drugs like this. The numbers came from Novo Nordisk's own announcement rather than a journal.
