Are peptides FDA approved?

Some individual peptides are, most are not. Semaglutide, tirzepatide, tesamorelin, and bremelanotide (PT-141) are FDA approved drugs for specific conditions. The peptides most often discussed in fitness and longevity communities, including BPC-157, TB-500, CJC-1295, ipamorelin, and epitalon, are not FDA approved for any use and are sold as research chemicals. Approval status is compound specific, never a category-wide fact.
