How many peptides exist?
There is no complete count. The body makes thousands of endogenous peptides, and laboratories have synthesized thousands more. This site does not hold a census of every peptide in nature or in every catalogue. What it can count is the published compound profiles on this site, a derived figure printed on /methodology, plus the human studies and citations those profiles actually hold. A marketing list of '200 peptides' or '500 peptides' is not that derived count. This FAQ does not invent a planetary total.
Educational use only. This database summarizes published research and is not medical advice. Where a dose appears it is a record of what a trial or clinic ran, or what people describe doing, with its source attached. Nothing here is a recommendation for personal use.
Part of research peptides, the category. What research peptides are, legally and practically, before getting into specific compounds.
