Egrifta is the FDA approved product for HIV-associated visceral fat: 412 people at 26 weeks, visceral fat down 15.2% versus a 5.0% rise on placebo, and 806 pooled across both Phase 3 trials, treatment effect minus 15.4% VAT with no change in subcutaneous fat. A research-chemical vial labeled tesamorelin is not that approved product. The molecule can be the same name; the labeled medicine is not the same article.
