Can you inject into lipohypertrophy?

You can physically put a needle into the lump. That is the wrong move. NHS patient guidance states that medicine is absorbed more slowly and less predictably through the fatty buildup that forms when the same spot is used again and again. The intervention in the insulin literature is to rotate onto unused skin, not to keep using the lump. This site does not publish a week count for how long a lump takes to flatten. Full detail at /injecting.

Educational use only. This database summarizes published research and is not medical advice. Where a dose appears it is a record of what a trial or clinic ran, or what people describe doing, with its source attached. Nothing here is a recommendation for personal use.

Part of injecting: sites, needles and safety. Subcutaneous vs intramuscular, site rotation, lipohypertrophy, needle length and gauge, vial hygiene at injection time, travel syringes, scar tissue, and when to stop and see a clinician. Full walkthrough at /injecting.
