What does semax and selank do?

Both are synthetic peptides developed in Russia and approved there for specific uses, but they target different things. Semax, a fragment of ACTH, is approved for stroke and cognitive disorders and is studied for BDNF driven neuroprotection and focus. Selank, a synthetic tuftsin analogue, is studied as an anxiolytic for anxiety and stress resilience without the sedation typical of benzodiazepines. Neither is FDA approved.
