How does dihexa work?

Dihexa is a small peptide derived from angiotensin IV. This site's profile says it potentiates hepatocyte growth factor and its c-Met receptor to drive synaptogenesis. Half-life is listed as short. Molecular weight is about 564 daltons. Alias: PNB-0408. This site's review found no human clinical trials. The 2013 paper that introduced dihexa carries an Expression of Concern. Three companion papers from the same laboratory on the HGF/c-Met mechanism are marked retracted on PubMed. It is not FDA approved. The 2013 paper reported reversal of scopolamine-induced memory deficits and increased hippocampal synaptogenesis in rats.
