DSIP is Delta Sleep-Inducing Peptide, the full name on this site's profile. It is a nine-amino-acid peptide, molecular weight 848.9 daltons. The letters name the sleep hypothesis from the original isolation, not a proven sleep result. Human studies on this site are limited and inconsistent; a 2006 review cited on the page says the sleep link was never characterized further. At the July 2026 Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee meeting, DSIP (emideltide) was the nominated peptide the panel voted not to recommend for compounding. The name is a laboratory label, not an approval.
