Is Zepbound the same as Mounjaro?

They contain the same active drug, tirzepatide, and this site's profile treats them as two brand names for that one molecule. They are not the same labeled medicine: Mounjaro is approved for type 2 diabetes and, from August 2026, to reduce major cardiovascular events in that population; Zepbound is approved for chronic weight management and for sleep apnea in people with obesity. A prescription for one is not automatically a prescription for the other. This site does not rank the brands; it reports the molecule and the labeled uses.

Educational use only. This database summarizes published research and is not medical advice. Where a dose appears it is a record of what a trial or clinic ran, or what people describe doing, with its source attached. Nothing here is a recommendation for personal use.

Part of names, absences, and legal limits. Brand versus molecule, side effects this site's citations did not measure, how long the trials actually ran, what national legal-status fields can say, and why two-compound answers do not scale to a larger stack.
