Is CagriSema the same as cagrilintide or semaglutide?

No. CagriSema is a fixed combination of two molecules: cagrilintide, a long-acting amylin receptor agonist, plus semaglutide, a GLP-1 receptor agonist, in one weekly injection. Cagrilintide alone produced 6.0% to 10.8% weight loss at 26 weeks in 706 people versus 3.0% on placebo. Semaglutide alone, as Wegovy 2.4 milligrams, produced 14.9% at 68 weeks in STEP 1. Together, REDEFINE 1 found 20.4% at 68 weeks versus 3.0% on placebo in 3,417 adults, and REDEFINE 2 found 13.7% versus 3.4% in 1,206 people with type 2 diabetes. CagriSema remains investigational; an FDA application was filed in December 2025 and is not an approval.
