Does MOTS-c burn fat?

Not as a measured result of giving MOTS-c to a person. Mouse work cited on the profile found that treatment prevented diet-induced obesity through AMPK in skeletal muscle. Human evidence on this site is observational: circulating levels, a mitochondrial DNA variant in 27,527 people, and an exercise-related rise in endogenous MOTS-c, plus a Phase 2a trial still recruiting (NCT07505745). Observational fat or metabolic correlations are not the same as a fat-oxidation outcome after a dose. The weight-loss FAQ on MOTS-c makes the same cut: nobody has yet published that administration trial.

Educational use only. This database summarizes published research and is not medical advice. Where a dose appears it is a record of what a trial or clinic ran, or what people describe doing, with its source attached. Nothing here is a recommendation for personal use.

Part of names, absences, and legal limits. Brand versus molecule, side effects this site's citations did not measure, how long the trials actually ran, what national legal-status fields can say, and why two-compound answers do not scale to a larger stack.
