Why is semax described as banned?

This site's legal-status fields do not say banned. They say not approved, research use only in the US, not licensed in the UK, and not approved in Australia or Canada. Semax is approved in Russia and Ukraine for stroke and cognitive disorders. Unapproved is not the same as banned. A July 2026 US Pharmacy Compounding Advisory Committee vote recommended it for compounding against FDA scientists' advice; that vote is advisory and is not a ban or an approval. This FAQ reports those national fields and that distinction, not a slogan from a marketplace listing.
