A two-week pilot in three men produced pigmentation, nausea at most doses, and spontaneous erections lasting 1 to 5 hours. A crossover study in ten men with psychogenic erectile dysfunction produced clinically apparent erections in eight of the ten, with nausea, stretching, and yawning more frequent than placebo. A case report describes new atypical nevi in a man with prior melanoma while self-injecting a related alpha-MSH analogue.
