What is the difference between melanotan 1 and melanotan 2?
Melanotan I (afamelanotide) is FDA approved as Scenesse for a specific rare light sensitivity disorder, delivered as a controlled implant. Melanotan II was never approved for anything and is sold only as a research chemical, prohibited to supply in Australia and flagged for safety concerns in its own research record. They are related molecules from the same discovery program, but one reached an approved medicine and the other did not.
