What is melanotan 2?

Melanotan II is a synthetic melanocortin receptor agonist studied for skin pigmentation and libido, developed from research into the same receptor family PT-141 (bremelanotide) also targets. It is not FDA approved, is not licensed in the UK, is not approved and is prohibited to supply in Australia, and is not approved in Canada, and it carries notable safety concerns raised in the research reviewing it.
