What does PT-141 do for women?
Its FDA approved use, under the brand name Vyleesi, is treating hypoactive sexual desire disorder specifically in premenopausal women, based on trials covering more than 1,200 participants. It acts through melanocortin receptors in the brain rather than a direct vascular effect, which is the mechanism by which it is thought to influence desire rather than physical arousal alone.
