Is Imcivree the same as setmelanotide?
Imcivree is the brand name for setmelanotide, the same selective MC4R agonist this site's profile lists as an alias. It is FDA approved for rare genetic obesity (POMC, PCSK1, or LEPR deficiency, and later Bardet-Biedl syndrome), not for common obesity. In Phase 3, 8 of 10 participants with POMC deficiency and 5 of 11 with LEPR deficiency lost at least 10% of body weight at about one year. In Bardet-Biedl syndrome, 32.3% of those aged 12 or older reached at least 10% weight loss at 52 weeks. A research-chemical melanocortin vial is not that labeled product. This site does not rank brands. Full record at /compounds/setmelanotide.
