Is epitalon the same as Epithalamin?

No, and the difference matters for reading the evidence. Epithalamin is a bovine pineal gland extract, a mixture. Epitalon is the synthetic tetrapeptide Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly, molecular weight 390.3 daltons, identified as one active component of that extract, also spelled epithalon. The long human mortality studies on this site, 266 elderly people followed 6 to 8 years and a 39 versus 40 coronary-patient comparison, used Epithalamin. The vials sold today contain Epitalon. Nobody has run the mortality study on the synthetic peptide. Sharing a research lineage is not the same substance. Full record at /compounds/epitalon.
