Is Pineamin the same as epitalon?

No. Pineamin is a related pineal polypeptide complex, not the synthetic tetrapeptide. This site's epitalon page cites a 55-person single-arm series in which a 100 mg course of Pineamin raised night urinary 6-sulfatoxymelatonin 1.9-fold above each person's own pre-treatment level, with no control group. That citation is tagged about another preparation. Epitalon is Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly, molecular weight 390.3 daltons, also spelled epithalon. The long mortality studies on that page used Epithalamin, the bovine pineal extract, not Pineamin and not the synthetic peptide sold today. Sharing a pineal aisle is not the same substance.
