What is larazotide used for?

Larazotide is an investigational peptide designed to tighten the gut barrier in celiac disease, studied in people who continue reacting to gluten despite a strict gluten free diet. It reached a Phase 3 trial covering 342 participants but the trial's sponsor terminated the program without publishing a result meeting its primary endpoint. It remains unapproved and is not currently in active development for that indication.
