Is BPC-157 legal?

It is legal to possess in most places as a research chemical, but it is not an approved drug and not a legal dietary supplement in the US, where the FDA has specifically flagged it. It is banned in Olympic sport under the World Anti-Doping Agency's S0 category covering unapproved substances. In April 2026 the FDA removed it from the Category 2 compounding list, and a July 2026 advisory committee vote on whether to allow it for compounding split 8 to 6 in favor, against the FDA reviewers' own recommendation.
