Is TB-500 the same as thymosin beta-4?

No, though the names are used interchangeably almost everywhere the product is sold. Thymosin beta-4 is the full 43 residue protein, about 4,963 daltons, and has completed Phase 1, 2, and 3 human trials. TB-500 is a synthetic 7 residue fragment of it, about 889 to 949 daltons depending on the salt form, with no published human study at all. A 2012 lab analysis at Ghent University confirmed products sold as TB-500 actually contained this shorter fragment.
