As the full length, 43 amino acid natural peptide, it has been studied in completed Phase 1, 2, and 3 human trials for wound healing, cardiac repair after injury, and corneal or other eye conditions. This is the parent molecule of the shorter fragment sold as TB-500, and its trial record belongs to it specifically, not automatically to that fragment, which FDA's 2026 review treated as a separate, largely untested substance.
