Does tesamorelin help with cognition and Alzheimer's risk?

It is being studied for this, which is different from being proven. Because growth hormone releasing hormone activity is thought to matter for brain aging, tesamorelin has moved into trials in older adults, including those at elevated genetic risk for Alzheimer's disease. Its approved use remains visceral fat reduction; a cognitive benefit is an active research question, not yet a demonstrated effect.
