What is tesamorelin used for?
Its FDA approved use, as Egrifta, is reducing excess visceral fat in people with HIV associated lipodystrophy, backed by randomized trials covering over 800 participants. It is separately being studied, not yet approved, for cognitive effects in older adults at elevated risk for Alzheimer's disease. Uses outside those two contexts go beyond its established evidence.
