How does ipamorelin work?

It binds the ghrelin receptor on the pituitary gland, the same receptor the hunger hormone ghrelin activates, which triggers a burst of growth hormone release. This is a different pathway than growth hormone releasing hormone analogues like sermorelin or CJC-1295 use, which is why the two families are sometimes paired: one increases the pulse, the other increases the frequency, though no trial has tested that specific pairing in people.
