How does sermorelin work?

Sermorelin binds the GHRH receptor on the pituitary gland, the same receptor the body's own growth hormone releasing hormone uses, prompting a pulse of growth hormone release rather than a constant elevation. Its half life is only about 10 to 20 minutes, so it produces a brief signal rather than sustained hormone levels, which is closer to how the body naturally releases growth hormone in pulses than a direct injection of growth hormone itself would be.
