AOD-9604 is a modified C-terminal fragment of growth hormone, residues 177 to 191 with an added N-terminal tyrosine, also written Tyr-hGH177-191. This site's profile says it stimulates lipolysis and inhibits lipogenesis in fat cells in animal models, without meaningful effects on IGF-1 or blood glucose. Half-life is listed as short. Molecular weight is about 1,815 daltons. Six randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled human trials summarized on that page found no effect on IGF-1 or glucose tolerance and a safety profile indistinguishable from placebo; the programme did not establish efficacy for weight loss. It is not an approved drug. GRAS notifications as a food ingredient are not a weight-loss approval. Animal citations on that page report reduced body weight and fat in obese mice and reduced weight gain in obese rats without insulin resistance.
