Can semaglutide cause constipation?
This site's semaglutide citation findings do not publish a counted constipation rate. What they do count on the gut is a class of gastrointestinal adverse events in OASIS 4: 74.0% versus 42.2% on placebo, described there as nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea, in 307 adults over 64 weeks. STEP 1 (1,961 adults, minus 14.9% at 68 weeks) and SELECT (17,604 adults, mean 39.8 months, 20% fewer major events) finding lines on this site are weight and heart results, not a constipation table. A class gastrointestinal effect is not the same as a constipation percentage this FAQ can quote. This FAQ does not invent an adverse-event rate the citations do not contain. Gut symptoms that are new or severe belong with a clinician. Full record at /compounds/semaglutide.
