Is semaglutide the same as Ozempic?

Semaglutide is the active drug; Ozempic, Wegovy, and Rybelsus are three brand names for it at different doses and, in Rybelsus's case, a different route, oral instead of injected. Ozempic is approved for type 2 diabetes, Wegovy for chronic weight management at a higher dose, and Rybelsus is the oral tablet form. All three are FDA approved, prescription only, and made by the same manufacturer.
